Brand Awareness Campaign for Beneficial Bank. Since 1853 we were here.

1853

Starting smarter banking

We opened the Beneficial Saving Fund Society of Philadelphia - now Beneficial Bank - to give the growing immigrant labor force a safe place to keep their savings.

1860

Growing to serve you

We moved our headquarters to 12th and Chestnut.

1927

Teaching children how to save

We launched the Beneficial In School Savings Program to help teach children the value of money. Since then it’s grown and evolved into the Financial Literacy program we take to the schools, nonprofits and businesses in our community – in 2015, we dedicated over 1,000 literacy hours to the program.

2005

Helping you stay protected

Beneficial Mutual Savings Fund gave bank customers more ways to protect their assets when they created Beneficial Insurance Services,* acquiring Paul Hertel & Company and the CLA agency in 2007. Today, Beneficial Insurance Services has more than $100 million in premium volume.

2007

Discovering new ways to help you

Beneficial Bank grew throughout the neighborhoods of the Delaware Valley when we acquired FMS Financial Corporation, the parent company of Farmers and Mechanics Bank.

2009

Reaching out to the community

We started the Blue Gooders program – a team of Beneficial employees dedicated to supporting our community. Through this program, our employees volunteer an average of 4,000 hours each year.

2010

Your Knowledge Bank

We opened our first campus, which was designed to create a new kind of banking experience for our customers. Campuses help start the conversation and let us help you make smarter choices with your money through workshops, resources in our Financial Learning Libraries™, Conversation Stations and more.

2011

Growing throughout the Delaware Valley

We acquired the St. Edmond's Federal Savings Bank, continuing our growth throughout the Delaware Valley and giving us more chances to serve you.

2014

Finding a new home

Beneficial moved its headquarters to “1818 Beneficial Bank Place” on Market Street.
