Beneficial Announces 2004-05 Someone Special Winners

The Someone Special Art Contest celebrated its 26th year of encouraging the artistic abilities of Philadelphia area students.


Beneficial Savings Bank began the Someone Special Art Contest in 1978 as a way to encourage the rich, imaginative talents of children. For the 2004-05 contest, 120 schools participated throughout the Philadelphia area. 

The winning artists will have their works on display at local Beneficial offices. In addition, each of the winners will take home a little piece of the bank. First place in the contest is awarded a $500 savings account, second place takes home $300, third place wins $200, and the rest of the award recipients earn a $100 savings account.

The schools also benefit from participating. The school of the first place winner earns $1,000, second place gets $750 and $500 is awarded to the third place school.
