Beneficial Bank Donates $9,000 to Alex'™s Lemonade Stand Foundation

PHILADELPHIA, PA (JULY 3, 2012): Beneficial Bank presented a check for $9,000 on Thursday, June 28 to Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF), a nonprofit dedicated to finding cures for all kids with cancer. The funds were collected from the Bank's fundraiser held on June 8 during National Lemonade Days, during which customers could enjoy some fresh lemonade and make a donation.

Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation raises money for and awareness of childhood cancer causes, especially research into new treatments and cures, and encourages and empowers others, especially children, to get involved and make a difference for children with cancer. It is named for Alexandra Scott, who sold lemonade to raise money to fight childhood cancer before succumbing to the disease at age 8 in 2004.
