PHILADELPHIA, Pa., May 10, 2012 – Beneficial Bank has announced the promotion of four Senior Management Team members and the addition of a Senior Vice President. The Bank has promoted Martin Gallagher to Executive Vice President, Chief Credit Officer; Robert Maines to Executive Vice President, Director of Operations; Joanne Ryder to Executive Vice President, Brand and Strategy and Human Resources; and Joseph Robinson to President, Beneficial Advisors. In addition, the Bank has hired James Tyrrell as Senior Vice President, Commercial Lending.

Gallagher previously served as Senior Vice President, Chief Credit Officer. He will continue to oversee Beneficial's Credit and Portfolio Management disciplines, with a specific focus on enhancing infrastructures and supporting lending portfolio growth. In addition, Gallagher will now assume responsibilities for loan underwriting, credit quality and portfolio administration. Gallagher holds a master of business administration in finance and a B.A. from St. Joseph's University. He lives in Wayne, Pa. with his family.
Maines previously served as Senior Vice President, Chief Risk Officer. In his new role, Maines will expand his responsibilities to include branch administration, BSA and security. He will also continue to lead the Information Technology, Compliance and Deposit and Lending operations at Beneficial. Maines holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Delaware. He lives in Wilmington, Del.
Ryder previously served as Senior Vice President, Brand and Strategy. She will continue to oversee Beneficial's marketing, strategic insights, community development and education and development initiatives, while also expanding her responsibilities to include human resource leadership. She holds a B.A. in communications from Penn State University. Ryder resides in Cherry Hill, N.J. with her husband and son.
Robinson currently serves as President, Beneficial Insurance Services, LLC. In addition to his responsibilities with Beneficial Insurance Services, he will also oversee Beneficial Advisors, a wealth management subsidiary of Beneficial Bank, with $172 million in assets under management. Robinson holds a master's degree from Widener University and a bachelor's degree from Penn State University. He lives In Wayne, Pa. with his wife and three children.
Tyrrell comes to Beneficial with more than 40 years of banking experience and most recently served as Citizens Bank's Sales Performance Executive for their New England, Midwest and Mid Atlantic regions. At Beneficial, Tyrrell will be responsible for leading the Bank's Commercial Banking group. He holds a bachelor's degree from St. Joseph's University and resides in Ambler, Pa.
