Beneficial Bank Raises Over $6,000 For Japan Earthquake And Pacific Tsunami Relief Fund
PHILADELPHIA, Pa., May 18, 2011 – Beneficial Bank, a full-service bank that specializes in serving the financial needs of the Greater Philadelphia region, today announced that it has donated more than $6,744 to the American Red Cross Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter for the organization's Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Relief Fund efforts. The funds were collected from Beneficial Bank employees and customers between March 18 and April 15.

Beneficial mobilized a bank-wide effort to collect donations from customers and employees, including holding an Employee Jeans Day and placing donation boxes at teller lines in all 65 offices throughout the Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey regions. On March 18, all Beneficial employees wore their jeans to work in exchange for a $5 donation to the Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Fund. Beneficial collected a total of $5,744 from employees and customers through the jeans day and in-office donation boxes. The Bank also contributed an additional $1,000 towards the total donation.
