How it works:

What is a non-PIN-based transaction?

Most debit card purchases not requiring a PIN number are considered non-PIN-based. These include online, over the telephone and through mail purchases using your debit card. At a local store, if you choose "Credit" and sign for the purchase, this is a non-PIN-based transaction. Recurring bill payments may also qualify as non-PIN-based transactions.
